There is significant funding available from UNH, the U.S. federal government, as well as private organizations 和 foundations to help you finance your education abroad.

Many of the awards focus generally on financial need or academic merit. However, a few have specific eligibility requirements, such the 多样性在国外 和 福利杰克逊 奖, 耶鲁大学的玛利亚 for 研究 in the Middle East.

UNH COLA Languages Literatures 和 Culture - There are several department scholarships supporting foreign language majors 和 minors who 研究 abroad.

UNH COLA Fund for Study in Italy - Supports UNH COLA students with a demonstrated interest in art, 艺术历史, 和 Italian language who plan on 研究ing abroad in Italy. Awards will be made to one or more selected students each spring 和 may range between $1,000元及5元,每奖000元.

UNH CHHS Sharyn Zunz 澳门葡京网赌游戏hip for Social Work Majors - Provides meritorious scholarship support to students participating in an academic 研究 和 travel program through the University. Recipients must demonstrate financial need 和 be in good academic st和ing. 

UNH International 研究 Opportunities Program (IROP) - UNH undergraduate students from all fields of 研究 may apply in the spring of their sophomore year or the fall of their junior year for substantial 奖助金 to conduct nine-week summer research projects abroad. Following a junior year of preparation, students conduct their research during the summer preceding their senior year.

UNH Emeriti Council Student International Service Initiative Grant (EC SISI) - This grant, initiated by S. 47岁的梅尔文·莱恩斯, supports opportunities for officially recognized student service organizations to bring their knowledge, enthusiasm 和 expertise to solve real world problems in disadvantaged areas of the world. Groups must have an advisor 和 raise on their own a portion of the funds needed for the project.

The UNH Office of National 奖学金 helps students find 和 apply for prestigious external funding opportunities such as the Benjamin A. Gilman International 澳门葡京网赌游戏hip, Critical Language 奖学金, 富布赖特, DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program), 和 Bridging 澳门葡京网赌游戏hip (Japan).

UNH Paul College: International Experience Fund 出国留学 澳门葡京网赌游戏hip. Through generous alumni donations, this scholarship is to support eligible Paul College students, 和 is intended to remove potential financial barriers to enable them to 研究 abroad.  This scholarship awards up to $5,000 to a deserving student who demonstrates need 和 plans to apply to a 研究 abroad program.  Applications are being accepted until March 1, 2024, for those who would like to go abroad during Summer or Fall 2024. 

斯坦利一. Hamel Traveling Fellowship – This fellowship provides approximately $3,800 for travel in Europe to graduating seniors, or recent graduates. It is coordinated by the UNH Office of National 奖学金.

UNH-Approved 研究 abroad programs – Many providers offer their own scholarships. Be sure to check their eligibility requirements 和 application process.

Undergraduate 国外的教育 Awards

The purpose of these awards is to assist UNH undergraduate students cover additional costs that come with 研究 abroad/away (NSE Canada only) or an international experience (Internship, 志愿者, 研究 program).

There are a variety of general undergraduate awards but a few have specific eligibility requirements, 如:

  • 多样性在国外 - supports under-represented students to 研究/intern/research abroad.  Preference will be given to a student doing an education abroad experience for the first time.
  • Foley-Jackson - provides $5000 in financial assistance to students at the sophomore level 和 above 和 will be 研究ing abroad for a semester or academic year.
  • 耶鲁大学的玛利亚 - supports students 研究ing abroad in the Middle East.

There are two competitions for these awards, the Fall 2023 competition for students going abroad in January term 2024, spring break 2024 和 spring semester 2024.

The Spring 2024 competition is for students going abroad in Summer 2024, Fall 2024 和 academic year 2024-2025.

There is one application form for each competition - Make sure to submit an application for the correct competition deadline:

Fall competition: Monday October 2 at noon for the Fall 2023 competition.

Spring competition: Monday March 11 at noon for the Spring 2024 competition.

Fall awards will be announced by the end of November 和 Spring awards will be announced by the end of April.

*Take note that you cannot save changes in the application 和 come back to it.  We recommend that for the long answer questions that you write these in a word document, copy 和 paste your answers into the application so that you can submit it at one time.
